Ezgi Özcan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of California Los Angeles working with Dr. Elaine Hsiao on gut-brain axis. She is interested in diet-microbiome interactions' influence on nervous system. Her current project examines how host microbiome mediates ketogenic diet's impact on epilepsy. Dr. Özcan aims to make bridges between basic nutritiion science and clinical research that could have implications for public health by developing more directed, microbiome oriented dietary alternatives. She has a PhD in Food Science at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
