Medicine/Pediatrics Resident
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
I completed my Ph.D. in nutritional sciences at the University of Illinois and was a part of ASN for all five years of my training. After my Ph.D. I went on to complete medical school at Kansas City University, and dual residency training in Medicine/Pediatrics at Georgetown University. I am esctatic to come back to ASN now as a physician bringing together my two passions of clinical nutrition and medicine to better optimize nutritional care in the clinical setting. My primary passion lies with mucosal immunology and how diet affects the immune system at the intestine and systemic immunity. Following completion of my residency training, I am excited to start my fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at University of Washington's Seattle Children's. There I hope to continue to promote nutrition in gastroenterology, and use of diet in autoimmune conditions from infancy through adulthood. Aside from being a major nutritional immunology fan, my hobbies include gymnastics, hiking, traveling, and spending time with animals.
