Amy Kaji, MD, PhD is the immediate past-president of SAEM and currently serves as the interim chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed her residency training at Harbor-UCLA in 2002 and then completed a fellowship in research and disaster medicine, during which time she achieved her PhD in epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health. Focusing on research methodology, she serves as a statistical and methodological editor for Annals of Emergency Medicine and JAMA Surgery and serves on the ACEP Scietific Review Committee, reviewing grant applications.
