Matthew Hamilton, M.D. is a first year emergnecy medicine resident in the Mayo Clinic Department of Emergency Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Matt grew up in a small town in Minnesota before studying fashion design at the London College of Fashion in London, England. The ensuing meandering journey led him to discover a love of patient care (particualrly older adults) and medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Minnesota's Duluth campus and in the Twin Cities before beginning his emergency medicine residency. His academic interests include geriatric emergency medicine, gay men's health, health disparities in Minnesota's Native American population, and palliative and hospice care. His personal interests include forest and prairie restoration throughout the great state of Minnesota.
