Mit Patel is a third-year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He is enrolled in a four-year combined MD/MS program and hopes to pursue a residency in Otolaryngology. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with honors from the Pennsylvania State University. Before starting medical school, he researched the pathogenesis of HIV/AIDS and the efficacy of vaccine candidates at the National Institutes of Health. He is currently studying the association of sociodemographic factors with unilateral vocal fold paralysis treatment in the Department of Otolaryngology at MCW. He is also investigating the role of MRI-based radiomic features in predicting prostate cancer aggressiveness following radiation therapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at MCW. Outside of his academic life, he enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and friends, and watching cricket games.
