Bret Stevens is the Associate Designated Institutional Official for two of McLaren Health Care’s teaching hospitals, McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, MI, and McLaren St. Luke’s in Maumee, OH. Before joining McLaren, he worked as a Program Coordinator Manager and previously as the ACGME Accreditation Coordinator for an academic medical center. Mr. Stevens has been a member of higher education development for a number of years, working in both professional and academic improvement teams. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Davenport University, his Master’s in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Corporate Governance from Wayne State University, and is currently enrolled at Oakland University completing his Doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership. Mr. Stevens is TAGME certified and holds a faculty appointment at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He serves as a member-at-large for AHME’s Council of Institutional Leaders and as an advisory board member for Davenport University’s College of Health Professions. He has previously presented nationally at the ACGME Annual Education Conference, the AHME Annual Institute, and at several of the AAMC’s affinity groups’ annual conferences.
