Christina Blume is a Doctoral Researcher in Bioinformatics in the lab of Felix Sahm at the Department of Neuropathology of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and University Hospital Heidelberg. Her doctoral research is focused on the cellular decomposition of meningiomas for improved patient stratification and characterization of these tumors at a single-cell level. Before starting her doctoral work in 2019, Christina studied Molecular Medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg from 2014 to 2019, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s diploma. In 2016, she obtained the Sofie Wallner Award for Cancer Research for her performance in her undergraduate studies. After gaining wet lab experience during the undergraduate studies, Christina shifted her focus to bioinformatics for her Masters. She has continued in this field for her PhD, for which she was awarded the highly competitive DKFZ Graduate School Scholarship. As part of her doctoral work, she is now investigating the intratumoral heterogeneity of meningiomas as well as the diversity in their immune landscape with its implications for patient outcome.
