Statement of Need/Program OverviewThe Society for Neuro- Oncology’s Annual Meeting is the largest and most influential meeting for multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of Neuro-Oncology. The latest advances in Central Nervous System (CNS) cancers are shared with an international audience that includes a variety of sub-specialties involved in basic & translational research, clinical as well as symptom management research. The meeting fosters opportunities to explore collaborations that will positively influence outcomes for patients with CNS cancers. This activity will be a collaboration of researchers and clinicians disseminating new knowledge to healthcare professionals in order to provide the highest quality of patient care to improve patient outcomes. The goal is to provide healthcare professionals with updated viewpoints, strategies, collaboration opportunities and an increased knowledge base to maximize treatment and management of brain tumor patients.
This year’s meeting will highlight the theme of Examining Tumors and their Environment to Improve Patient Care. We are thrilled to share that an outstanding group of plenary speakers have been confirmed. As an adjunct to the main meeting, the Education Day on November 17 will feature two distinct tracks of specialized content. The first track, organized by Michelle Monje, Humsa Venkatesh and Varun Venkataramani, will focus on Cancer Neuroscience. The second track, organized by Milan Chheda, Mariella Filbin, Jennie Taylor and Jeffrey Wefel, will address CNS Cancer Survivorship. It is hoped that healthcare professionals will advance the treatment and management of CNS tumor patients.
The purpose of this conference is to provide those interested in the treatment and care of brain tumor patients with updated viewpoints and treatment strategies
