I am Dr. Quintino Giorgio D'Alessandris, MD, working at Department of Neurosurgery, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario “A. Gemelli” IRCCS in Rome, Italy. I graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2005 at Catholic University School of Medicine, Rome. I then completed my residency program in Neurosurgery at the same University in 2010, under the mentorship of Prof. Giulio Maira and Prof. Roberto Pallini. In 2014 I completed my Doctorate program in Neuroscience. Afterwards, I started my work as Consultant Neurosurgeon at Fondazione Policlinico Gemelli in Rome. My clinical and research activity is focused mainly on malignant gliomas and pituitary adenoma. Regarding gliomas, I am involved in translational research, mainly using in vivo models and cancer stem cells, surgical treatment and second-line targeted therapies. My most important research work, published on Neuro-Oncology, deals with the clinical value of glioblastoma stem cells in predicting treatment response to chemo-radiotherapy. Starting November 2022 I've been appointed as temporary assistant professor in Neurosurgery at Catholic University School of Medicine, Rome.
