Dr. Susana Isabel Ramos is a PhD graduate of the BBSRC-funded London Interdisciplinary Biosciences Consortium at King's College, London. Her doctoral work in Dr. Setsuko Sahara's lab focused on deciphering the transcription factors that confer cortical progenitor identity and neuropotency in the developing mouse neocortex. She is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Dr. Nadejda Tsankova's lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City. There, she studies the lineage relationship between cortical progenitors and their progeny in the developing human neocortex in order to understand how glioblastoma tumor cells might de-differentiate into multipotent and proliferative progenitors in the mature neocortex.
