This will be a presentation on surveying aquatic invasive species as part of an early detection effort to mitigate and prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species in the Adirondack park. The issues surrounding the introduction of aquatic invasive species to a water body and their subsequent detection and removal in an efficient manner will be covered through examples from over fifty lakes surveyed in the summer of 2021. Participants will learn about species of concern, detection methods, and mapping to monitor further spread.
