IECA Environmental Awards Recipients
The IECA Awards of Excellence program acknowledges outstanding achievements in the erosion and sediment control industry and is a staple event at the conference. The
Western Sydney Airport project received the environmental excellence award which is IECA’s most prestigious award.
Daniel L Fisk, CPESC, received the outstanding professional of the year award, and
Wally Butman sustained contributor award for distinguished service to IECA. The sustained partner award recognizes distinguished support to IECA and demonstrated long-term support to the industry. The winner of this award is IECA staff member,
Joanna Fetherolf, CMP. The young professional award is now the emerging leaders award and recognized recognizes outstanding young professionals under 40 years old that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection. The award winners are
Jaime Schussler, EIT, CPESC-IT and
Stefano Rignanese.Two education awards were also presented. The Technical Paper of the Year was awarded to
Gleicy M. Cavalcante, EIT and
Gary Hawkins, Ph.D. The Presenter of the Year award was won by
Andrew Macleod, CPESC, CPSS for his presentation, Down Under Erosion and Sediment Control, during the 2021 IECA Virtual Annual Conference.
IECA Chapters were also recognized for their connection and support efforts to local members with the following awards:

- Innovative Education - Southeast Chapter
- Career Development - Australasia Chapter
- Communication and Outreach - Mid-Atlantic Chapter
