Professor Kinam Park, Purdue University
Professor Kinam Park is the Showalter Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Pharmacy at Purdue University. He has studied controlled drug delivery systems for four decades, with a recent focus on understanding PLGA polymer properties and the mechanisms of drug release from long-acting injectable formulations. He is currently developing 2~6-month long-acting naltrexone/buprenorphine injectable formulations for treating opioid use disorder. Professor Park also serves as the president of Akina, Inc., specializing in specialty biodegradable polymers for applications in biomaterials and drug delivery. His current research includes examining the impact of distilled spirits on the research spirit.
