D5 - Cultivating the Next Generation of MCH Leadership with The WATCH Coalition

The WATCH Coalition is a grassroots organization of youth, parents, educators, and youth development workers who got together to address the intersections of interpersonal and structural violence with the goal of creating a city that is safer for all people, particularly youth of color. With our community-led intergenerational structure, we implement programs that promote child health and social justice while incorporating authentic youth leadership. Our unique model teaches disenfranchised community members how to access their power, a skill that will forever change the way they engage in and shape their communities. In this workshop, participants will learn how The WATCH Coalition’s organizational model facilitates health equity, leadership development, and power change.
