Maternal Health Program Manager

Fatu Ndiaye is the Maternal Health Program Manager at the WATCH Coalition, an anti-racist community development organization based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Fatu has a lifelong commitment to maternal health. As an adolescent, she was a caregiver for her mother who had thyroid cancer and diabetes while pregnant with her younger sister. Her role as a caregiver to her mother and her siblings sparked a passion for maternal and child health. She attended the Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College, where she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant license. She studies Health Sciences and Africana Studies at University of Rhode Island. At The WATCH Coalition, Fatu is leading a study to assess parenting assets of Woonsocket mothers of color, and is designing culturally relevant interventions to improve maternal health outcomes among Woonsocket mothers of color. Her goal is to become an obstetrician & gynecologist to improve maternal health outcomes for Black and low income communities.
