The increasingly complex, diverse, and dynamic threat landscape means police executives and organizations require the most insightful intelligence and information possible. In August 2022 the IACP with support from DHS, and in partnership with DHS and other national and federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies and associations, sponsored the 2022 Intelligence Summit in Alexandria, VA. The Summit galvanized collaboration and a commitment to strengthening our existing intelligence and information sharing capabilities, while protecting privacy, civil liberties, and civil rights. 2022 Summit participants emphasized the critical leadership role played by the Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC) over the past 20 years – established as a direct result of the first-ever IACP Intelligence Sharing Summit in 2002. The future requires support, commitment, and participation of every police agency – regardless of size. This session will provide preliminary findings from the 2022 IACP Intelligence Summit and an overview of the way-ahead.
