This course represents a new partnership between the American Diabetes Association and SMFM that aims to improve collaboration and foster joint educational efforts regarding pregnant and preconception individuals with, or at risk of diabetes. Diabetes is one of the most challenging medical complications of pregnancy because of the need for frequent glucose monitoring and medication adjustment as well as the high risk of maternal and neonatal complications. With expert lectures from both endocrinologists and MFM specialists, this course will provide an in-depth exploration of important and evolving topics such as continuous glucose monitoring, metformin use, insulin pumps, the impact of social determinants of health, and how to provide equitable care.
