The Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Technical Assistance (SMVF TA) Center has developed a process to assemble and support interagency teams to prevent suicide among military and veteran families. These teams, which must commit to implementing the best suicide prevention policies and practices, are supported by the SMVF TA Center as they move from planning to implementation. The process recommends a diverse team composition for success and is tailored to the specific needs of each team. The workshop is intended for those interested in building interagency teams using a public health approach for suicide prevention among military and veteran families.
Learning Objectives:
Identify best practices and tools utilized for building interagency teams, as well as how they are applied.
Compare key considerations about team composition structure in relation to the public health approach for suicide prevention among SMVF.
Discover how the SMVF TA Center supports interagency teams to develop strategic action plans intended to influence policy change and implement programs.
