Mr. Harris is a Senior Project Associate with SAMHSA’s Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Technical Assistance (SMVF TA) Center at Policy Research Associates, Inc. For the past three years, Mr. Harris has served as the lead on coordinating Crisis Intercept Mapping with inter-organizational teams across the country. In this capacity, he helped to coordinate the research, development, implementation of this technical assistance process. He also serves as the SMVF TA Center lead on suicide prevention efforts. He works with interagency teams to support the strategic planning and initiative implementation that strengthens the behavioral health systems that serve SMVF populations.
Mr. Harris is currently pursuing doctoral study at the University at Albany in the field of Information Science with research interests in mental health informatics, the digital health divide, and the role of technologies in support of people with mental health disorders. Mr. Harris holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps ending his tour as a fire team lead, in-country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) veteran in 2003. He is married to a former U.S. Marine, who is herself an OEF/OIF veteran.
