Ben is a Senior Project Associate with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s [SAMHSA’s] Service Members, Veterans, and their Families [SMVF] Technical Assistance [TA] Center at Policy Research Associates, Inc. For the past 5 years, as a lead facilitator for the TA Center, he works directly with state teams and communities to build strategic action plans with evidence-based strategies and policies intended to prevent suicide among SMVF. He is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the effectiveness of site visits, workshops, trainings, and information gathering and dissemination. In previous professional roles, Mr. Barrowman was a Financial Analyst at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company. He served in the Management Group as an operational leader, responsible for regulatory and federal Department of Labor requirements – working closely with technology and compliance divisions. Outside of work, Ben has a passion for healthy living and wellbeing. He dedicates himself to the local Diabetes fundraisers – including the American Diabetes Tour De Cure, previously serving as a team captain, corporate spokesman, and member of the executive committee. Mr. Barrowman received his master’s degree in Business Administration from The College of Saint Rose in 2007, and his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, with a Physics Minor, from Stonehill College in 2005.
