As crisis services expand across the country, quality measures are needed to determine the impact and value of services and to drive continuous quality improvement. The National Council Medical Director Institute (MDI) introduces a new framework to organize metrics that assesses the performance of crisis systems in their entirety called Access to Help. In this framework, core values expressed from the customer perspective are mapped onto metrics that measure performance at the provider and system level. Find out more about how metrics can inform continuous quality improvement and disparities, fragmented data systems and ways to move beyond process metrics to relevant outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will define the importance of quality metrics in the development, delivery, and oversight of crisis services.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to describe key elements of the theory and methods used to create meaningful quality measures.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to explain how the ACCESS TO HELP framework can be used to organize crisis metrics to assess the performance of the system as a whole.
