Matthew L. Goldman, MD, MS, is the Medical Director for Comprehensive Crisis Services in the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and he is a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Goldman is an early career psychiatrist board member of the American Association of Community Psychiatry, he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association’s Council on Advocacy and Government Relations and he sits on the National Council for Behavioral Health’s Medical Director’s Institute, where he co-chairs the Crisis Services Committee. From 2018-2019 he was a Policy Fellow in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through the Health and Aging Policy Fellowship and the Congressional Fellowship Program, and from 2019-2020 he completed the UCSF Public Psychiatry Fellowship. He completed his residency and chief residency in psychiatry at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
