In the past decade, External Invasive Resorption (EIR) has been explored more than any other time in history. The use of advanced imaging, proper follow-up, and biological investigation has led to increased knowledge and improved therapeutic techniques. But perhaps one of the most striking advancements has been our knowledge on the pathophysiology and outcome of EIR. In this lecture I will attempt to link the two and present biological justification for case selection and treatment outcome.
