DSOs and other investor groups are buying endodontic practices at a rapid rate. Many endodontists have partnered with one of these groups, and many others are considering it. Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Maupin sold all or a portion of their practices to different DSOs approximately 3 years ago, each with a different business model. They will describe their experiences during the courting and negotiating phases, and since closing the sale. Jeff Foley has been in the private equity industry for about 20 years. He will describe why PE is interested in endodontists, and present modeling of the financial implications for endodontists at different stages of their careers. The speakers will provide advice for those considering a sale, and discuss their perspectives on the future of endodontics.
