NS-21 - Management of Complex Trauma Cases and Immature Open Apex Workshop

Management of dental trauma remains a significant clinical challenge affecting health-care providers and patients alike. Patients can present with a wide variety of injuries ranging from crown or root fractures to injuries to the supporting periodontal structure, including luxations and avulsions. This presentation will discuss the newly published guidelines from the IADT (international Association of Dental Traumatology) for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of traumatized teeth using different clinical case scenarios based on the available scientific-based data. Treatment of young permanent teeth with necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis present an even more complex clinical challenge, particularly in immature roots with short undeveloped root structures, thin dentinal walls, wide-open foramen. During this presentation, the audience will be actively involved to establish the diagnosis and treatment options. In addition, the participants will have the opportunity to place apical barriers in immature teeth using different techniques.

Refunds for AAE workshops will not be granted, regardless of the circumstance, after April 5, 2023. A no-show occurs if a registrant does not cancel in advance of AND/OR does not show up for their scheduled workshop within 30 minutes of the published start time. If a registrant no-shows, they will forfeit their spot at the workshop and an individual from the waitlist will be given their place.
