Thomas Coverick, Managing Director, leads KeyBanc Capital Market’s Municipal Digital Infrastructure Practice and general Public Finance in the Midwest and Mountain regions. Mr. Coverick has over 30 years in public finance experience and has extensive expertise working with issuer clients in the broadband space including senior/sole managed underwriting 20 engagements totaling nearly $625 million par amount of bonds issued. Transactional experience includes bond deals with Yellowstone Fiber (formerly Bozeman Fiber), UIA/UTOPIA, MiNet and Cities of Providence and Mapleton, Utah. He is currently working with Golden State Connect to develop a financial plan and related policies to deliver broadband to rural California. Additionally, he is leading the public finance efforts related to a $150 million debt component for a privately developed network in five Midwestern cities. Mr. Coverick is a frequent panelist for digital infrastructure conferences and has participated in discussions with numerous communities and project sponsors in their consideration of implementing municipal broadband networks.
In addition to his broadband experience, Mr. Coverick has served in underwriting leadership roles or as financial advisor for the issuance of over $10 billion of municipal bond offerings including transactions for the Cities of Chicago, Milwaukee, Baltimore and St. Louis, the States of Utah, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, Cook County, the New Orleans Aviation Board, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and the Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District. His financial advisory experience includes the Milwaukee Public Schools, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and as an advisory team member for the City of Detroit. Mr. Coverick is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and holds Series 7, 52, 53 and 63 licenses.
