Overview of Fiber Connect 2022 PoC – Unlimited Capacity Creates Limitless Possibilities

PoCs (Proofs of Concept) are collaborative projects among Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) member companies. PoC projects can involve up to three FBA member companies and should demonstrate how fiber broadband allows the innovative services and applications driving the Gigabit Economy to deliver more value to communities, companies and people than with other broadband delivery options. Each submission should demonstrate why fiber is more robust, reliable and best suited over alternative broadband delivery options in supporting the innovative services and applications that are available once the digital divide is eliminated.

Ideal PoC Demonstrations

The purpose of the PoC is to demonstrate the benefits fiber brings to communities as they look to leverage the following applications and services once the digital divide is closed. Please focus your PoC on demonstrating the value fiber brings to the following applications:
  • Smart Home
  • Smart City
  • Public Safety and First Responder
  • Precision Agriculture
  • K-12 Education and Virtual Learning
  • Higher Education and Campus Life
  • Remote Worker
  • Smart Grid
  • Telehealth and Smart Hospitals
  • Industrial IoT Applications
If you have another idea for a PoC that is not covered in the list above, please contact us to discuss prior to submitting the application.

PoC Recordings

FBA and one of its media partners will schedule time with each of the PoC groups to record a demonstration and discussion of the PoC. These videos can be shown in the booth, used in pre-conference promotions, over FBA and Fiber Connect social media platforms and as content available to PoC participants for use.

Cost

There is a $12,500 cost per PoC fee for participation that can be shared between the participants as they see fit. These fees will cover the PoC demo kiosks, floor space, power, connectivity, promotion, and signage during the event, as well as the production costs associated with the PoC recordings.

Selected projects will be showcased at the 2022 Fiber Connect event in a dedicated area of the Expo Hall.

If the submitted PoC is not showcased, there will be no fee. The PoCs can be as short or as long as required by the participant FBA members.
