Farmers are being pressured to reduce consumption of natural resources and improve sustainability while yielding larger crops year after year. Technology advancements in this area address these concerns but for many farmers, reliable high-speed connections are not readily available. Fiber connections are critical to the success of rural farming communities and the smart farms of the future. This presentation will examine the opportunities for service providers to deploy fiber services to rural farming communities as well as evaluate the challenges and best practices from a leader in the deployment of rural fiber networks, Jim Kronebusch, Vice President of Technology and Engineering, Hiawatha Broadband Communications.
