Leah B. Yasenchak, Ph.D., AICP/PP, CEcD is a Principal at Brownfield Redevelopment Solutions, Inc (BRS), and oversees redevelopment planning efforts for environmentally compromised property and resiliency projects. She began her career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and from there was on loan to the City of Trenton as a Brownfield Coordinator. Leah then left EPA to form BRS, where she continued to stay active in Trenton brownfield redevelopment. Leah is the principal in charge of the firm’s practice areas of resiliency, economic development, planning, outreach, and grant writing services. Her unique background in the disciplines of Planning, Economic Development, and Environmental Sciences provides an interdisciplinary approach invaluable to clients. Leah has more than 30 years of experience at the federal and local levels in environmental policy, grant writing and administration, and brownfields redevelopment. She received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Public Administration of Environmental Policy from The American University, her M.S. degree in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins University, and her Doctorate in Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University. She is a certified and licensed planner and a certified economic developer.
