Stephanie A. Leonard, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine and a faculty member of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative. Dr. Leonard’s primary research interest is in applying epidemiologic methods to perinatal health and health systems research, with a focus on health equity among birthing people. Since coming to Stanford in 2017, her work has focused on severe maternal morbidity, contributing to major developments in the understanding of severe maternal morbidity and its disparities at the population level and methods to improve research in this area.
