Large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT are artificial intelligence (AI) applications that can comprehend and produce human-like text and language. Since the release of ChatGPT, there has been increased interest in the utility of LLMs in medicine, and several potential uses in practice have been proposed. Since counseling regarding urogynecologic surgery can be complex and LLMs specialize in comprehending and producing language, we believe that one of the best potential applications for LLMs in urogynecology is in patient counseling. Therefore, our objective was to compare the accuracy and completeness of ChatGPT responses to answers in standard patient information leaflets about common urogynecologic procedures. This study shows that ChatGPT is roughly as accurate and complete as standard patient information leaflets at answering questions about common urogynecologic procedures.
