Knowledge of clitoral anatomy and its relationship with postoperative sexual function is imperative for understanding anatomic mechanisms of sexual dysfunction after gynecologic surgery. The objective of this study was to identify clitoral features (size, position, shape) derived from pelvic MRI associated with sexual function following vaginal prolapse surgery. Results demonstrated that smaller clitoral glans, lateral clitoral complex position, and clitoral shape correlated with poorer sexual function after vaginal surgery. Findings warrant further research on how clitoral size, position, and shape may influence the sexual response.
