Elizabeth Burden is a Senior Advisor of Practice Improvement at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Previously, as a senior specialist for Altarum, Elizabeth, served as the director of the BJA COAP Training and Technical Assistance Center for Peer Recovery Support Services, which supports grantees of the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs. Burden has extensive experience in organizational development, community development, program planning and development, staff and volunteer development, grant writing and fund development and media relations and marketing. She has provided consultation to nonprofits and developed and presented trainings around the country under the aegis of several federal agencies and programs including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
