Kathleen Manuel, MPH, Statewide Beahvioral Health Workforce Coordinator, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, researches behavioral health workforce trends and causes, to support workforce growth through strategies for recruitment and retention, training, licensure, and regulations. She is also a public health professional that is trained in research, project management, and administrative coordination. Kathleen previously worked for the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health Austin Campus where she worked with their operations and leadership team to increase productivity among internal and research activities and external community partnerships. Kathleen received her Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology from UTHealth SPH in 2020 and jump started her professional career in health policy where she worked on bridging the gap between Texas policymakers and non-partisan health researchers. Kathleen graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Human Development and Family Sciences where she specialized her studies in Early Childhood from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Most recently, she co-authored on a collaborative paper on mask adherence and social distancing in the United States that was published in the American Journal of Infection Control and will be wrapping up several other papers that are underway.
