Jennifer Tackitt-Dorfmeyer Bio
Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by trade and has had the following experience in the field of child protection and welfare. Jennifer received her training as a social worker at the University of Indianapolis and then for her graduate degree at IUPUI School of Social work. Jennifer began career with The Salvation Army working with those that have substance use disorders, then moved to the Indiana Department of Child Services. Her career there lasted 10 years where Jennifer served through the ranks beginning at entry level, moving through middle management, and exiting as an Executive Manager. During this time, she was also able to lend her skills as an adjunct professor IUPUI School of Social Work graduate program.
In 2014 Jennifer began to explore working in the private sector and became a Program Director for a residential treatment center. This experience influenced her decision to merge her experiences into teaching a shared team-based practice in California as an Independent Child Welfare Coach and Consultant in Los Angeles County California. This entailed on-site training Shared Core Practice Model which is a team-based approach to child protection and shared by residential treatment facilities to maintain consistent communication and practice.
Jennifer’s has spent the last 7 years of experience at Choices Coordinated Care Solutions (Choices) based in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is currently the Vice President of Midwest Operations. Jennifer has held several positions at Choices that involve leading youth services including wraparound practices, foster care, and child welfare programs. Observing substance use disorders in every aspect of practice Jennifer sought certification and begin applying wraparound practice to support those struggling into recovery. Since 2018 Jennifer has collaboratively built programs within Choices to enhance and build services for those seeking recovery from substance use disorders, including Choices Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Kaleidoscope Recovery Services.
