Trauma-informed supervision (TIS) is crucial to support and retaining the human services workforce in their difficult work with struggling communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, racism and vicarious trauma. One-time trainings are insufficient to create sustained practice change. Collective learning with interdisciplinary supervisors over a series of meetings can have a longer lasting impact. In this scaffolded learning process, supervisors come together to discuss TIS principles, then practice in the workplace between sessions. Learn how these traumas may have impacted your staff and how to recreate this model in your local jurisdiction.

Examine the benefits of TIS within the collective traumas of racism and COVID-19.
Identify the five tasks of TIS.
Discuss how to replicate the TIS model as developed by WJCS and the Westchester County Trauma Committee.
