Suicide remains the second leading cause of death for young people between the ages of 10 and 34. At Aetna, a CVS Health Company, we have made a bold goal commitment to reduce the number of suicide attempts by our members 20% by 2025. To make a meaningful impact, Aetna Behavioral Health created a deliberate and comprehensive approach using evidence-based practices, professional engagement and training, community platforms and data analytics and technology. We will focus on the use of data and analytics to create and execute our Attempt Predictive Model to make risk estimates for our membership.

Learning Objectives:

Define data elements and features considered in construction of the predictive model based on consultation with experts from the NIH and experience from the VA.
Demonstrate predictive model output and risk score classification to apply tailored outreach, engagement and precise evidence-based risk-reducing interventions.
Describe three intervention to address the overall reduction of suicide attempts among the adolescent population including outcome metrics achieved to date.
