Trauma-Informed Policy and Training Specialist Texas Health and Human Services Commission Austin, Texas
Embedding trauma-informed practice into an organization is not simply teaching members what trauma is and how it impacts people. For principles of trauma-informed care to be embraced by members, there must be both top-down and bottom-up promotion of trauma-informed practices. We will explore innovative ways Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is addressing these concerns.
Learning Objectives:
Define the problem of embedding trauma-informed care into an organization.
Describe the purpose of a simultaneous top-down and bottom-up approach.
Demonstrate various activities aimed at delivering concrete, repeatable trauma-informed practice.
