Despite growing interest in the potential clinical use of psychedelic compounds in treating mental health conditions, there is little familiarity with what a psychedelic-induced experience is. This presentation will provide a framework for characterizing acute psychedelic-induced experiences and explore clinical data to identify characteristics of those experiences that may contribute to observed clinical effects.
Learning Objectives:
Utilize the 5D-ASC scale to understand and characterize subjective experiences of psychedelic-induced altered states of consciousness.
Identify pharmacological and non-pharmacological factors that contribute to the intensity and quality of psychedelic-induced experiences.
Examine evidence of the role of subjective psychedelic-induced experiences on proposed clinical outcomes.
