Is equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) a distraction? What happens when others don’t feel safe to speak up in the workspace? Difficult conversations are at the center of equity work and being psychologically safe is in the center of it all. We will define psychological safety and what it isn’t and engage in discussions and reflections around data elements that describe the impacts and importance of creating safe spaces in the EDI journey no matter how far along you are as an organization or team.
Engage in a courageous cultural dialogue to define norms of power in relationships that contribute to what we define as psychological safety
Recognize and describe the organizational benefits and service delivery outcomes when being intentional in building the psychological safety muscle and the transformation to community and systems.
Identify effective strategies to increase trust, create safe spaces for difficult conversations and remove the barriers in current organizations that prohibit psychological safety.
