A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis Test is commonly used by businesses to evaluate the company's current competitive position and to aid in their strategic planning. A personal SWOT Analysis Test can play a similar role for individuals. The results will allow one, whether a recent LIS graduate or a mid- to late-career librarian, to take stock of their current abilities to select an appropriate position and also to devise a professional development to advance their career. The speaker will analyze the four components of the Test as they relate to librarianship and will demonstrate how to apply it in a real life scenario.
