Assistant Professor (Education Specialist)

Tasha Posid, M.A., Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she serves as the Surgical Educator and Education Specialist. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Emory University. Dr. Posid earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Boston College, which she followed with a three-year post-doctoral fellowship at The Ohio State University where she specialized in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation (assessment). With training as a behavioral researcher, she uses these highly transferable skills and unique background in research, statistics, and education to facilitate a productive research agenda evaluating educational outcomes for the purposes of improving the learning process, particularly in the realm of medical and surgical education.
Dr. Posid additionally facilitates several of the department’s ongoing resident education series, including a Research Curriculum, Wellness Curriculum, Hidden Curriculum (for non-clinical skill development), and has recently developed a community partnership with a local free clinic to provide cross-cultural training to the department’s residents in the form of a local Global Health Curriculum. Dr. Posid also manages a robust pipeline of students working with the department - both medical students and undergraduates - and is the Faculty Advisor for the First-Generation Pre-Medical StudentOrganization at Ohio State. In Urology, Dr. Posid continues to serve as the Department’s Director of Social Media and Director of Undergraduate Education.
