Dr Alexander Light MBBS MRCS BSc (Hons) AFHEA is an NIHR-funded Academic Clinical Fellow with the Imperial Prostate group at Imperial College London, and a urology trainee in the North London deanery.
He graduated from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Medical Education in the UK in 2019 with Triple Distinction, where he was also awarded a First-Class Honours BSc in Anatomy, Developmental and Human Biology. He subsequently completed the Academic Foundation Programme in Cambridge, conducting prostate cancer research in active surveillance, prognostic modelling, and artificial intelligence. He returned to London in 2021 to start his ACF.
Alex's research in Imperial Prostate focuses on the diagnosis of recurrent prostate cancer after previous radiotherapy or focal therapy using imaging modalities like multiparametric MRI and PSMA PET/CT, in addition to subsequent treatment with salvage focal ablation. He is also involved in research in the primary setting, including the IP6-CHAIROS and IP7-PACIFIC trials.
