This symposium will provide an overview of surgical treatment for appendiceal neoplasia and peritoneal surface disease arising from tumors of the lower GI tract.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize the variable indications for formal hemicolectomy depending on specific appendiceal tumor.
Review the natural history of and postoperative outcomes following surgery for pseudomyxoma peritonea.
Summarize the controversies and indications for cytoreduction with or without HIPEC for metastatic colorectal cancer.
