Caldwell Lewin, MSN, RN, CIC, CPHQ, is the Infection Prevention and Control system manager for Sentara Healthcare, a 13-hospital organization serving Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. She earned her BA in psychology from Franklin and Marshall College, her BSN from Post University, and her Master of Science in Nursing-Infection Control from Post University. Caldwell has been a registered nurse since 1998, working in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine for the bulk of that time. Her experience in Infection Prevention and Control spans Acute Care, Critical Access, Rural Health, LTC, & ASC. Lewin served as a board member for the APIC chapter in New Orleans, the National APIC Health Inequity and Disparities task force, and currently serves as co-Chair for the newly established APIC Health Equity Committee. As part of a U. S. Coast Guard family, Lewin has lived in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Washington State, California, Alaska, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
