Dr. Zheng is a Computer Scientist and the informatics team lead of the National Healthcare Safety Network in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at the CDC, and was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Zheng has over 15 years of R&D experience in health IT, including public health informatics, medical data management and clinical natural language processing. He has worked with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities of the CDC, designing and implementing NLP and data integration systems. He was also involved with several research projects of Emory Cardiology, Emory Pathology, Duke Hematology and Rutgers Radiation Oncology, which provide information extraction and integration solutions to clinical data warehouse.
