Session Description: This presentation will introduce various innovation tools and resources that could be used to facilitate the surveillance activities of NHSN. We will discuss the in-house natural language processing (NLP) solution developed by NHSN and its public health surveillance use cases. In addition, we will illustrate our clinical decision support (CDS) software libraries that could be built into the electronic health record (EHR) environment. We will also exhibit NHSN's experience in modernizing terminology resources. These efforts extend and standardize the workflow and dataflow of public health surveillance.
