Dr. Sarah Reese is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montana School of Social Work. Sarah has over a decade of direct social work practice working with individuals and families impacted by poverty, oppression, and mental health and substance use disorders. This experience has informed her research interests – primarily, integrated health intervention to promote health and well-being during the perinatal period, with a particular focus on perinatal substance use disorder. Sarah is affiliated with the University of Montana Center for Population Health Research, the Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities, and the Billings Clinic in Montana. Sarah received her doctoral degree from the College of Social Work at the University of Utah. There, her dissertation focused on the impact of mindfulness-oriented recovery enhancement on opioid misuse during pregnancy.
