LaTasha Brockington began her work in community advocacy 10 years ago as a coordinator and client liaison for a women and children’s transitional living facility. As she followed her passion for Women’s health and wellness, she began teaching prenatal yoga which led to her becoming a doula. In her work as a doula, LaTasha has obtained certifications in childbirth education, lactation education, community health work and other specialized trainings. She is also currently a student midwife at the nation's first and only black owned MEAC accredited midwifery school, Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery. Currently, LaTasha is excited to be enhancing her knowledge and sharing her experiences as a part of the team at Howard University's Centers of Excellence. Her self-care includes hiking, spending time in nature, vegan cooking, taking care of her plants, listening to music and podcasts, and enjoying a good laugh.
