Veronica Vega, LMSW, RYT is a Doctoral Candidate at New York University, Silver School of Social Work, and her research is aimed to identify and implement equitable and corrective methods for the perinatal population that addresses the needs of families of color throughout all New York City boroughs.
Veronica has over fifteen years of experience supporting diverse populations in a variety of Mental Health settings including private practice, public service, and nonprofit organizations. She is currently a full-time High School Social Worker with New York City's Department of Education. Simultaneously, Veronica is an entrepreneur and founder of The Mama Sanctuary, LLC., where she provides holistic wellness and support services to women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.
She has additional training as a School Mental Health Consultant, SIFI Field Instructor, Trauma-informed Therapist, Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga Teacher, Meditation Facilitator, and Postpartum Doula. Veronica is on track to complete her Perinatal Mental Health credential (PMH-C) with Postpartum Support International, where she also holds a membership.
Her long-term goal is to be a key contributor to perinatal mental health research and provide successful measures for unique and inclusive outcomes.
